Our History

In September of 1957, the late Honorable Bishop William Arthur Clark, Sr. and Mother Estelle Clark, organized and established the Bible Way Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in their home located in Trenton, New Jersey. As they held Sunday morning services with their seven children, they witnessed how the Lord blessed their humble beginnings because of their obedience, dedication, and faithfulness.

Through the founders’ perseverance and desire to reach more souls for the kingdom of God, the church rented a storefront building on the corner of East State Street and Lincoln Avenue in Trenton, NJ. While having services at this location, Mother Clark started a Vacation Bible School and provided transportation for the neighborhood children.

As the church continued to grow, the Lord showed His favor and allowed the church to move to 1714 Chambers Street in Hamilton, New Jersey. In order to support the ministry financially, Mother Clark often sold chicken dinners from her home. The members witnessed her dedication and labor of love, and they too were inspired to work tirelessly from their homes. Their commitment and devotion to the ministry enabled the church to annul the entire mortgage.

In 1982, Elder Andrew Philip Parrott and Sister Parrott began attending the Bible Way Church, and in 1988, Elder Parrott was appointed the Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Bishop Clark.

On February 28, 1993, the Lord called Bishop Clark home at the age of 96. Prior to his passing, Bishop Clark was led by God to appoint Elder Parrott as his successor. On May 1, 1993, Elder Andrew Philip Parrott was officially installed as the pastor of the Bible Way Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Under the anointed leadership of Apostle Parrott, the church has continued to grow through the dynamic preaching of the Word of God. He relentlessly teaches salvation through baptism in Jesus name and the infilling of the Holy Spirit by the evidence of speaking in tongues. As a testament to how the power of God moves in the ministry, in 2000, the church was renamed Bible Way Temple of Deliverance.
